Hands Across Humanity is dedicated to providing support, education, advocacy and funding research for health and disability-related topics. The funds we raise make possible innovative health research and publications by healthcare professionals. We support research to improve diagnostic or therapeutic care for people with disability-related health conditions. These findings benefit both individual and provider education.
We prioritize the voices of people with disabilities about their lived experiences. Articles, blogs and resources written by individuals with disabilities regarding a broad spectrum of social, physical and mental health promote self-advocacy and well-being for those with disabilities as well as their friends and families.
We couple innovative research by leaders in the scientific and medical communities with first-person accounts of lived experience to facilitate a better quality of life for people with disabilities.

How do we provide support, education and advocacy?
- Articles, blogs, All Hands In newsletters and other publications written by people with disabilities, their families and friends, expressing often unheard views and personal narratives.
- Innovative and original health-related resources from medical professionals benefiting both consumers and other healthcare representatives.
- One-on-one life enrichment sessions with therapists, coaches and other supportive allies. Peer-to-peer support is also available through our growing database intended to create and inspire meaningful connection across humanity.
- Group classes, webinars, specialty events and workshops facilitated by select medical professionals and advocates.

All Hands In! When you make a gift to Hands Across Humanity, you support these unique offerings that meet people where they are, promoting inclusion, support, education, advocacy and holistic well-being.

How is it 2025 and we still do not recognize the full humanity of people with disabilities?
How have we climbed the invisible staircase of technological advancement and yet we cannot completely wrap our hearts around the tapestry of human connection threaded within us all?
My forays into the research world regarding sexuality and disability were motivated by the fact that I felt like I was an outsider. I felt as though dating, romance and sexuality were the perpetual parties I was never invited to; the adorable guy who sat next to me in every class but never indicated anything beyond platonic interest; the secrets of collegiate enterprise that would never be whispered in my ear.

I can hardly believe my book is finished. After years of dreaming of this day, I’m so proud of the collaboration that created this opportunity. Even from the early days of the conceptualization of my sociological qualitative research project about disability, sexuality and socialization, I hoped my research would reach people. I sincerely hope you will take a look, and allow the voices of my research participants to speak to you, with you.

Hands Across Humanity Humanitarian Award Recipients

We are pleased to share that Audri Nelson has been selected as a recipient of the Hands Across Humanity Humanitarian Award!
Audri is a committed advocate, activist and rescuer of animals who need help most! A dedicated volunteer for her local bunny shelter, she has adopted many animals over the years who need a little extra TLC, many of whom have little time left on this earth. In her free time, she continues to foster and care for not only her own adored furry family members, but also participates in TNR (Trap, Neuter & Release) programs to support her local stray cat and kitten populations.
Audri has a buoyant, loving, kind and generous spirit, whether she is supporting animals or humans. We wanted to recognize her and all of the heartfelt altruism she shares with those who have the pleasure of knowing her. Keep up the good work and congratulations, Audri!
